SUMMARY

100% Riesling grapes hand harvested in early October. Juice fermented in stainless steel tank. Finished medium-dry by preserving some of the natural sugar in the grapes. No malolactic fermentation and no oak barrel aging. Filtered and bottled March 2013. 110 cases produced.

PRODUCTION NOTES
The 2012 growing season was fairly warm and dry throughout with exception of the month of September when early rains impacted harvest picking decisions. What's particular about this Riesling vineyard is that it's capable of ripening grapes at low level of sugar content. The juice was fermented entirely in stainless steel tank. Fermentation was completed in 3 weeks at an average temperature of 58F. The wine was fined with bentonite and not aged in any oak barrels. Malolactic fermentation was prevented by temperature control. Released in March 2013. 110 cases produced.
