PRODUCTION
NOTES
The 2013 growing season was fairly warm with average rainfall through September. October, harvest month, brought extremely favorable conditions with less than 2 inches of rain which was about 20% of the average rainfall for the month. As a result, grapes achieved perfect ripening levels. Yield was approximately 3 tons per acre.
At the winery grapes were lightly crushed before pressing. The juice was fermented entirely in stainless steel tank. Fermentation was completed in 3 weeks at an average temperature of 58F. The wine was partially aged in old French oak barrels for four months. Malolactic fermentation took place naturally while in barrel. The wine was fined with bentonite. Released April 2013. 190 cases produced.
